Gano Street
The street is named after Richard Montgomery Gano. He organized two companies of Texas cavalry for the Confederacy. He became a colonel of the Seventh Kentucky Cavalry. Towards the end of the war he was promoted to brigadier general.
He was elected in 1860 to represent Tarrant County in the Texas legislature. The Texas State Historical Assocation has this entry for him online. https://tshaonline.org/handbook/online/articles/fga14
The Sons of Confederate Veterans have a "Unreconstructed Brig. General Richard Me Gano Camp 2292 that is in Grapevine, Texas. This is their Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/camp2292/ There is a Texas Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy named after him also.
