Lee Parkway
Lee Parkway is named after Robert E. Lee and is next to Oak Lawn Park on the west side of Oak Lawn Park which was formerly the Robert E. Lee Park.
The residents of the Mayfair condominiums complained to the Dallas city council about having the name changed since it was too much bother. See the page on the Mayfair which has a video of their complaints and the protest in response.

Slave Narratives assigned to Lee Parkway
The following are the slave accounts assigned to 3401 Lee Parkway. They are from two books, "Slave Testimony: Two Centuries of Letters, Speeches, Interviews, and Autobiographies," edited by John W. Blassingame, Louisiana State University Press., 1977 You can order it online at https://lsupress.org/books/detail/slave-testimony/ and "American Slavery As it Is: Testimony of a Thousand Witnesses," edited by Theodore Dwight Weld, originally published by the American Anti-Slavery Society in 1839, but it has been reprinted. It is a classic. You can also download it for free at http://www.archive.org. A map will be forth coming with the Dallas streets named after Confederates indicated.
In the listings "Slave Testimony" is abbreviated as "ST" and American Slavery As it Is is abbreviated "AS." The first page of the source is given but the narrative might have more than one page.
For the listing below, the DocSouth Edition by the Univ. of North Carolina Press of "American Slavery As It Is," was used.
A separate letter was written for each one of these accounts and one letter each was sent to all the condominiums of the Mayfair. See the Mayfair page for the text of the letters. http://www.templeofdemocracy.com/mayfair.html

About Robert E. Lee :
These articles don't tell all about Robert E. Lee's white supremacy and vicious acts. For example neither article talks about how free African Americans were enslaved when Robert E. Lee invaded Pennsylvania. In once case a group of African Americans came out of hiding to save Chambersburg, PA from being burned to the ground. The Confederates threaten to burn the city unless they were given up to be enslaved. This was a bad decision by the African Americans since Chambersburg, PA has pandered to neo-Confederates since.
However, they tell a good deal about his pro-slavery, white supremacist views and vicious acts.

I view D Magazine very skeptically for reasons I won't go into here, but this article is good.

This website has a lot of information about Confederates and neo-Confederates including several articles about Robert E. Lee showing his vicious racist nature.

There are some new books, and I will have to read them and review them and if good I will add them here.
