Richmond, Virginia Campaign 2014 2015 UDC Convention in 2014, SCV Convention in 2015
Note: Since this is a two year campaign I am having two sections, one for what happened in 2014 and one for what happened in 2015.
2014 Campaign
Since both neo-Confederate groups, the United Daughters of the Confederacy (UDC) in 2014 and the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) in 2015 had plans to have their national conventions in Richmond, Virginia the campaign to not have churches host neo-Confederate groups was a combined single campaign.
Since St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Richmond had hosted the UDC six times since 2000 they were specifically written to as since it was very likely they would host again. They had hosted the UDC every time they had their national convention in Richmond, 2004, 2006, 2008, 2010, and 2012.
Otherwise the writing campaign was directed towards the four denominations which had most frequently hosted neo-Confederates before: Episcopalians, United Methodist Church, Roman Catholic, and Presbyterian USA.
This is the link to the correspondence.
For 2014 it turned out that the UDC choose Monumental Church which was owned and recently restored by the Historic Richmond Foundation, a historical preservationist society. St. Paul's Episcopal Church did decide to dis-invite the UDC. The Richmond Free Press had an article on St. Paul's Episcopal Church decision to dis-invite the UDC and the Historic Richmond Foundation justifications for their hosting the UDC. The article is online here.
The correspondence for this campaign included the President of the Episcopal Church, the Archbishop of Canterbury, and the Roman Catholic Pope as letters were written to progressively higher levels in the denominational organizations. Some of this will be documented on the denominational pages since it applies to all hosting of neo-Confederates regardless of which city in which it might occur.
The Richmond campaign is still ongoing. The SCV is scheduled to have their national convention there in 2015. They are in stealth mode and list the church as TBD. Remember it might be your church. Don't presume it isn't your church because your church conducts some activity in regards to race. See the 2015 Campaign section following the 2014 documentation.

2015 Campaign
For 2015 it remains to be seen if any church will lent their facilities to the Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV). Letters are being written to ask church leaders not to host the SCV. Some in follow up to replies to letters received in reply from last year which evasive and some which were sent again regretting that no reply had been received. To fully understand some of this correspondence a review of the 2014 correspondence is adviseable.
This campaign is still on going. It appears that the SCV is listing the churches at which they will have their function as TBD. Remember it might be your church.
The correspondence with the Historic Richmond Foundation is on the Historic Richmond Foundation page.
