W. H. Gaston Middle School
You can read online or download this paper. W.H. Gaston was the President of the Texas State Fair as you will see in the advertisement in the lower right corner on the second page of this paper. I have indicated it with a red arrow. W.H. Gaston was also in the Confederate military but that you can find online. I will provide a link to the Texas State Historical Association (TSHA) Handbook link to their entry about him. In no way does that infer that the TSHA Handook is an acceptable history resource and not a white wash, but purposes of providing information about Gaston's involvement in the Confederacy it will do.
